How we recycle old flower buckets for new ones22 July 2019
The efficient Fc588 flower bucket is the successor for the Fc577. Product groups Lisianthus and Alstroemeria already make plenty of use of it. Due to this switch, some Fc577 remain unused, which we now use for the production of the new buckets.
All the old buckets return as the new model. This is a major step forward for circularity.
Old Fc577 buckets as raw material for the new Fc588
Formerly, we used to add recycled plastic to new buckets from old, rejected flower buckets. The majority of our multi-use flower buckets is already made out of recyclate. However, due to the fact that we have been switching from the Fc577 to the Fc588 since March 2019, there are already some Fc577 and (support shelf) Fc597 that remain unused. These too will be ground down and melted down so they can be used as raw materials for the new Fc588 and Fc598. As a result, 25% of the new Fc588 is composed of former Fc577. And we will try to raise that percentage. Will you help us?
You can help us by using only Normpack stickers
The amount of dirt on the buckets and shelves affects the quality of the recyclate. For this reason, we want to ask you to use only Normpack stickers. Other types of stickers may leave glue-residue or dirt, which makes the bucket less useable for raw material. Normpack stickers have a layer of water-soluble glue and a well-draining top layer, making these stickers easy to wash in our packaging washing machines without causing malfunctions.
